How to make the shell of LCD display ?

  1. Important screen size data

    External size (TFT OD)-external size LCD screen, visible area (thin film transistor open circuit)-visible area LCD screen, visible area. The active region (TFT AA)/-KLOC -1/is the active region in which the pixel resides.

  2. LCD screen housing size setting

    If the window of the LCD case is larger than the TFT Open, the metal frame of the display screen will be exposed, which is very unattractive. On the other hand, if the window is smaller than the effective area (TFT AA) , we will overwrite the image displayed on the screen. Therefore, we should design the LCD shell from the most important parameter dimensions, namely OD, OPEN, and AA.

    The display opening in the housing should be larger than the external dimension (OD) of the LCD panel included in the drawing, because the display can not be placed tightly on the housing, which can cause damage to FFC tape or the display. An offset of about 2mm may be appropriate. When designing the shell of the LCD touch control module, we should pay attention to the size of the upper glass (length, width and angular radius) , the touch control panel, the thickness of the glass and the mounting tape. For display modules with mounting frames, the diameter and spacing of mounting holes are important parameters. All of the above dimensions should be considered in the design of LCD panel enclosures.

  3. Assembly technology of LCD panel shell

    The correct assembly process of LCD module in the enclosure is very important. Some of the most common damage seen during faulty assembly include loss of FFC, throttle position separated from transmission oil, damage to thin film transistor glass, and bending of the liquid crystal display frame.

    In the first phase of installing the display module in the shell, you should be careful to protect the edges of the FFC to ensure that it is not corrupted. We recommend the use of a bracket mounted on the back of the display screen. The additional support will make the structure more rigid and minimize the impact of external factors such as vibration and temperature changes. You should be very careful not to put too much pressure on the module when installing the LCD panel into the enclosure. Too much stress doesn't help you get better traction.
